# Troubleshooting

Fixes for common wallet, vault, node, transaction and API problems.

## Wallet

**MetaMask does not connect.** Unlock MetaMask and check you are on Base Sepolia. Clear the browser cache and refresh. Disconnect and reconnect.

**"Wrong network" error.** Switch to Base Sepolia:

- Network Name: Base Sepolia
- RPC URL: https://sepolia.base.org
- Chain ID: 84532
- Currency: ETH
- Explorer: https://sepolia.basescan.org

## Vaults

**Deposit fails or does not appear.**

1. Check you have enough tUSDC. Vaults take tUSDC, not NODR.
2. Approve the vault to spend tUSDC.
3. Check your ETH balance for gas.

There is no minimum deposit (`minDeposit` is 0).

**Deposit stays "pending".** ERC-7540 vaults use async deposits:

1. You request a deposit and the assets are transferred.
2. A keeper fulfils the request. The vault sets no minimum wait.
3. You claim your vault shares.

Wait until the request shows as claimable, then claim.

**"Claim" is disabled or fails.** Check the deposit has been fulfilled under pending requests. Check you are connected with the correct wallet.

## Nodes

**Validator, Guardian or Oracle node does not start.**

1. Read the logs: `journalctl -u noderr-node -f`
2. Check that the RPC endpoint from your application is reachable.
3. If the installer stopped at the hardware check, compare your machine with your tier page under [Run a node](../node-operators/README.md).
4. If your install token was rejected, ask the team in Discord.

**Node runs but is never selected for tasks.** Possible causes are a low TrustFingerprint score, insufficient stake, network connectivity issues or a node that is not properly registered.

1. Check your TrustFingerprint score.
2. Increase your stake.
3. Verify the node is registered onchain.
4. Check uptime and response times.

## Transactions

**"Insufficient funds".** Check your ETH balance for gas, with a buffer for gas estimation. Check tUSDC for a vault deposit or NODR for a stake.

**"Transaction reverted".** Check the contract state, such as paused. Verify your input parameters. Check for role or permission issues. Review the transaction on BaseScan.

**Stuck transaction.** The gas price may be too low. Speed it up in MetaMask, or cancel and resubmit with higher gas.

## API

**429 Too Many Requests.** Reduce request frequency and use exponential backoff. Consider the authenticated tier for higher limits.

**WebSocket keeps disconnecting.** Add reconnection logic, respond to heartbeat messages and check network stability.
